Compute Resources

School of Chemical Sciences High Performance Computing Cluster

In addition to the cluster resources specific to each CATMS faculty member, the School of Chemical Sciences at UIUC maintains the Lop computational cluster which is available for use by anyone in the School of Chemical Sciences. Lop contains a combination of high-performance CPU and GPU nodes described here: https://answers.uillinois.edu/scs/scs-clusters. It is maintained by the outstanding SCS computing staff https://scs.illinois.edu/resources/computing/computing-staff.

National Center for Supercomputing Applications

In addition to these local resources specific to SCS, CATMS benefits from close proximity to the on-campus National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) which houses multiple computing resources including Delta, the most performant GPU computing resource in the National Science Foundation’s portfolio.
